Thanks to support from the Australian Government, the new luxury accommodation pods and upgraded restaurant facilities at Cupitt’s Estate are now open to provide a much-needed boost to local tourism in Ulladulla.

The project received more than $1.5 million under the Australian Government’s Regional Jobs and Investment Packages, allowing the local family-owned winery to add accommodation services as well as increase the restaurant and dining capacity to cater for functions and business events.

While visiting Cupitt’s Estate to see the finished upgrades today, Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips MP, said enhancing local tourism offerings and creating more jobs had never been more needed.

“We have so many high-quality tourist offerings here on the South Coast and it is fabulous to see this project deliver more job creation and more tourism support thanks to funding from the Australian Government,” Mrs Phillips said.

“Cupitt’s always has been a spectacular place to visit – and now you can even stay the night! What more could you need.”

Providing high-end accommodation while also catering for more customers in its winery, brewery and restaurant will help Cupitt’s attract a wider range of visitors, strengthening Ulladulla as a tourist destination. Mrs Phillips said that after years of challenges that have hampered the vital local tourism industry, projects like this that are creating more jobs for local people are critical.

“Well done to Griff, Rosie, Thomas, Libby and all the Cupitt’s team on this truly magnificent upgrade,” she said.

The project consisted of upgrades to the restaurant kitchen, bar and dining facilities, installation of a new waste water treatment facility, construction of ten new luxury accommodation "pods", a new dining pavilion marquee, together with civil works including roadworks, car parking and landscaping.

“There is so much to see and do on the beautiful South Coast, so please come and visit and support our local tourism industry,” Fiona Phillips said.
