The NSW South Coast is receiving over $3.7 million in funding to help multiple sporting clubs and facilities affected by last year's floods get back on their feet. In Gilmore, eight sporting facilities will receive a portion of these funds.

The Essential Community Sport Assets Program is jointly funded by the Federal and NSW Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, as part of the broader Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Package (CLIRP).

In total, $36 million has been awarded to 96 projects to repair and rebuild damaged facilities that were impacted by the February or June floods, including eight on the NSW South Coast.

“Sport brings communities together” said Fiona Phillips.

“The recent floods on the NSW south coast have made it more important than ever to come together and support each other.”

“Sport has always been a great unifier and plays a vital role in bringing people together, providing a sense of normalcy, and helping to rebuild after a disaster.”

“The grants awarded will not only improve people's experience playing and watching sport but also make damaged infrastructure more resilient in the future.”
